Carré’s Machine generates static electricity using friction and induction. This type of machine was created in 1868 by the French engineer Ferdinand Philippe Carré (1824-1900), and was mainly used for medical applications during the second half of the 19th century. Our piece, from the 19th century, was already part of the physics laboratory of the Royal Seminary of Bergara at the end of said period.
